    The Daniel Plan - June 23, 2016

Ruth replied, "Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me." Ruth 1:16-17

Ruth could have stayed in Moab, but she chose to leave everything familiar to her and join Naomi, who was sunk in grief after losing her husband and two sons. Naomi needed her, and Ruth chose faithfulness to her mother-in-law over familiarity and security. She even chose Naomi's God, the Lord, over the gods of Moab.

Ruth had the courage to embrace change. She had suffered a severe loss, the death of her husband, but she didn't let grief immobilize her. Her resilience gave her what she needed to put herself in a position where the Lord could bless her circumstances and use her to bless others.

We, too, need that resilience, that courage to accept change.
God gives us grace in those moments and carries us when we need it most.

What courageous step is the Lord asking of you today?

God can bring good out of any circumstances, even in unfamiliar territory.
