    The Daniel Plan - June 28, 2016

In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the LORD, weeping bitterly. 1 Samuel 1:10

In a culture where a woman's worth was measured by the number of her sons, childless Hannah was scorned.

Her husband had a second wife with several children, and that second wife made Hannah miserable.

So when the family journeyed to the place where God's tabernacle was set up for worship, Hannah poured out her heart in prayer.

God heard that persistent and impassioned prayer, and he gave her a son. He grew up to be a leader of Israel as both priest and prophet.

When Hannah dedicated him to the Lord's service as a small boy, she prayed another prayer (1 Samuel 2:1-10) on behalf of the entire nation, praising God not just for his goodness to her, but also for his goodness to all of Israel.

God hears persistent, passionate prayer. Persistence honors our relationship with him.

What will you bring to him?

God honors our prayers and carries our anguish close to his heart.
