    The Daniel Plan - July 10, 2016

"You're blessed when you're content with just who you are--no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought." Matthew 5:5

It's good to have goals that stretch us, as long as we know that reaching those goals isn't the measure of our worth.

We need a spirit of contentment that says, "I'm loved and secure just the way I am.

I don't need to be more or less to please other people.

God treasures me the way I am, even if I don't reach my goals, even if I have good days and bad days."

This secure, loved place is the stable foundation for pursuing goals, because contentment frees us from the fear of failing.

We move forward toward our goals with peace instead of anxiety.

The Bible says, "Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it" (1 Timothy 6:6-7).

How content are you with who you are right now?

You're blessed with peace if you're content with who you are right now.
