    The Daniel Plan - July 17, 2016

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone Romans 12:18

The health of our relationships influences our physical health.

For example, sometimes we eat because we're lonely or unhappy in a relationship. Stress often comes from relationships and gets expressed in our bodies as headaches, high blood pressure, sleeplessness, or muscle tension.

And on the positive side, when our relationships are deep and satisfying, we have energy freed up to give to physical activities. We feel alive, eager to move, and eager to serve God.

These are some good reasons to seek peace in relationships. Seeking peace means doing what we can to resolve conflict in constructive ways, talking honestly and respectfully about differences.

It means making the other person's needs a priority alongside our own needs. It means offering forgiveness and asking for forgiveness.

Are any of your relationships causing you stress?

How can you seek peace in those relationships?

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God" (Matthew 5:9).

God will bless you, and your body will thank you, if you do your part to make peace with the people around you.
