Dear Members
Dear Members,
I hope this discussion was beneficial to you. I realize it was written in a more clinical fashion, but as a nurse, I wanted to share some information I've gathered that is of a clinical nature.
I want to stress that as humans we are capable of great variety in the way we deal with stressors such as trauma, abuse, and addiction. Every person going through an incident is capable of dealing with that incident on a more personal, individualistic level. In other words, the descriptions listed in these posts may or may not apply to you. The factors listed must be taken in a general light.
I would very much like to hear your comments concerning this series of posts.
Thanks for reading!

Tracy, your an angel
Hey, i just want to say that i really learned a lot reading all that stuff. i couldnt understand everything, but got the gist of it i think.
I'm seriously thinking of moving away from all the drama in my life... this helps to know why i have certain issues - dont wanna air out my dirty laundry here.. but all i can say, is i'm messed up.
FORGIVENESS. i gotta forgive my self ... and others. before i can do that i gotta have space.
I'M a prisoner here, stuck and i need to break free to let everything go.

I think that living with active alcoholism has the effect of major burnout.
All the positivity of a life can become filled with anger and frustration. Feeling that there is no one to turn to, no one to share the secret with can create such isolation that life seems hardly worth living. And the alcoholic is likely feeling the same way--isolated, ashamed, lonely, desperate, filled with loathing. More than one person gets lost to the disease when there is no respite from it.
Just saying..
